Holidays! Man, talk about a slowdown in website updates. In writing, not so much. The wheel never stops turning. Quite a few things have happened in the past few weeks. Let's see if I can name them all:
- After finishing the beta read revisions, I've sent Second Genesis off to an editor for a final review before publication. We're getting very, very close!
- I've successfully plotted the sequel novel and am scheduled to begin writing in about a week with a 45 day schedule to completion. (Give or take.)
- In the process of plotting out my sequel, I've inadvertently opened up my storytelling universe to several standalone books that I can pump out in quick succession as soon as the initial trilogy is complete.
But wait, there's more! Today, I'm starting a project that I've been wanting to do for a long time: A 365 Stories Project.
The idea is to write a story each day, every day, for one year. For the sake of the project, my sanity, and my other workloads, my pieces will be short-short fiction and flash fiction (under 1000 words) based on images I find around the web. I'm going to start off using stock images but plan to contact some artists a little ways down the line to see if I can get permission to republish their work with a story attached. Fingers crossed on that one!
My next major hurdles are to find cover art for my book. I found some images that I could use, but I think I want something a little more . . . unique for this series, so I've got to find some artists to commission scenes (in my price range!) that I can use for covers. On top of that, I'll have to format everything, figure out the self publishing platform stuff, and finally get everything out the door.
Exciting times ahead. Stay tuned!
